There is a wide range of legislation that also impacts on the production of a media product. During the planning phase of the production these impacts must be considered and acted upon. an example is copyright, ed Sheeran copyrights the song shape of you.
Freedom of information- it creates a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by most UK public authorities, including us. it also sets out exemptions and places a number of obligations on those public authorities.

ASA-The Advertising Standards Authority is the UK's independent regulator of advertising across all media. We apply the Advertising Codes, which are written by the Committees of Advertising Practice (CAP).
copyright- Copyright is a legal term describing ownership of control of the rights to the use and distribution of certain works of creative expression. This can include books, video, motion pictures, musical compositions and computer programs.
libel- Libel involves the act of publishing a statement about an individual, that is untrue and threatens to harm the reputation and/or livelihood of the targeted person. this can be over anything for example saying something over social media, radio, television or internet.
slander- something that someone says that can possible damage your reputation which considers a libelous statement which can also be called a defamation of character or slander.
BBFC- the British board of film classification, this is independent, non-governmental and not-for-profit and has had the responsibility of classifying films.
PSB BBC- public service broadcasting, this is delivering impartial and trusted news and UK's originated programmer and distinctive content. the public service broadcasting are the ones providing Channel 3 services, Channel 4, Channel 5, S4C and the BBC.
fake news- false or misleading content presented as news and communicated in formats spanning spoken, written, printed, electronic and digital communication.

media ethics- dealing with the ethical principles and standards of media, including broadcast media, film, theatre, the arts, print media, ad the internet. the field covers many varied and highly controversial tropics.
