Radio P2- focus of a radio
Radio X
Radio X is a British national commercial radio station focused on alternative music, primarily indie rock, and different interviews with other famous singers. This radio station is owned by Global. It as originally know as Xfm before being rebranded as Radio X in 2015. Radio X is now home to the world's freshest rock and guitar-based music. Their target audience is for anyone who likes the music called indie rock, this is mainly aimed at people who like old school music and that it is back in fashion. I know many teens like is style pf music now so I think it is aimed for the teens and older. It is rock music so it is a little bit more intense for the younger are elderly generation.
The age target audience is 15-44 ages. Radio X is also on multiple social media platforms such as twitter, Facebook and Facebook breakfast show, Instagram and YouTube. This goes to show that it is more for this younger generation that use social media instead of listening to radio that is in the car for example. I think that this station attracts its certain types of audiences by putting well known actors, singers, artist on doing interviews and talking about their latest shows. They also present everything on social media, this benefits them by targeting a younger generation that uses social media a lot such as Instagram and Twitter, they also have accounts on Facebook to attract the audience of an older generation that might not use apps such as Twitter, Instagram or YouTube.
Their advertising on social media are things such as posts with their logo and interviews of famous artist that are on the station. This creates people to click ln their profile once they see their favorite artist being interviews by the well known presenters.
Radio X is owned by Global Player which also owns other stations such as Capital, Capital XTRA, Capital Dance, Capital Chill, Heart, LBC, Smooth and Classic FM. Radio X is a national station on DAB digital radio, it isa only available to listen to within the United Kingdom. The new national Radio X which was also known as Xfm on FM in London and Manchester, and on other platforms including TV and online, there is no longer any local output on the Manchester station. Radio X is available nationally on DAB+ digital radio, Global Player, Virgin Media channel 960, Sky channel 113, and on FM in London 104.9 and Manchester 97.7, it is also availably on Tv and online such as YouTube.
Radio X is a national radio station focused on alternative music, primarily indie rock. They have interviews, concerts, music and more. There is mostly likely music to be playing through out this radio station because it is a music based station however, they have interviews on sometimes of different acters or music artists so they are mostly likely to talk about their most recent shows or albums in their interviews.
It is a very chilled and relaxed radio station so it will be very laughable and have a good positive lively relaxed vibe to it. This is similar to the other radio station that Global own such as Capital, it is a pop music based radio station that sometimes has different presenters talking to guests that come onto the station or they are talking about the different new albums/ songs that have been recently released. Capitol has its sister stations such as capitol extra and they are extremely similar to each other but what makes radio X different is that it is targeting and playing music for a niche audience which is people who like indie rock. This is why it is a little different but anyone can listen to it if they want however it primally plays music for people who enjoy indie rock music.
Their main presenters that talk is Chris Moyles and Dominic Byrne, they are the current presenters. He is a very lively and chilled guy to talk to so they interviews and when he presents it is just a good and positive friendly person to listen too. I enjoy listening to the radio show and I think that he will draw in the target audience by the friendly and comfortable way he talks to everyone.
