Radio M2- technologies and process involved in broadcasting

Radio M2

Equipment

There is certain types of equipment that is needed to be used when you present a radio show. Some equipment would be: headphones, this is so you can listen to yourself because if you cant hear what you sound like you can be sure if there are no issues so it is better you can hear what it all sounds like. You will need to need microphones to speak into these are important because there would be no show without your microphones. You will also need speakers do you can hear the music that you are playing to make sure that there are no technical issues that are happening while it is playing live or not. The studio software that you will use to edit and play the music from which means you will need a computer or monitor to be able to see the music you playing next and what software to edit on. A mixer desk to manipulate the music if needed and a broadcasting desk to have all the equipment on.

You need to make sure you are in a private and quiet area so it doesn't end up catching outside noise or other people talking because if the microphones pick up other sounds it can effect what the audience can hear. All of this equipment will help the radio stations production because it is helping the station run smoothly, it will make sure that the music is playing when needed and that the presenters words are clear for the audiences and it helps the editing process incase there is anything in the postproduction that needs edited.

Production

During the show there will be an advert within the middle of this show, this advert will be advertising something that is related to the show. There will be a few jingles within the show because we need something to just break up the few segments in the show. We want to have the show talking about different crimes in the area. there going to be fake crimes that we make up but we are making them sound real and comedic and giving our opinions on the crimes made. There may also be an interview that will be within the show, this will also be made up but we are going to make it sound as real to relate to the show. Having the equipment that we have means that the show can run smoothly. The microphone will help the voices sound as clear as possible which is going to help with making it sound as smooth and clear as it can be. Thinking of it running smoothly isn't how smooth the show will go but more like it be running smoothly with no interruptions with background noise and people talking.

Pre-production

The schedule of what will play when it does. I think that before we start our radio show we will have a schedule on what is going to play when it does, this will help the show run smoothly. We will need to make sure all the equipment is so working and what we need we need to know that it all works and is on. The jingles should be pre-recorded and the advert will be pre- recorded too. We are going to plan to make the jingles and what ideas that we use, we are also going to plan and create the advert separately.

Post- production

We would plan what the pre-recoded sample is first and the we would get filming making sure it is all edited and created to what we want it to sound like. Once it has done we will check and make sure it fits our show, then we will add it into the radio. We will have someone there making sure it is all running smoothly and how it should be running. They will need to make sure that if it is live that there are scripts and schedules to make sure everything runs how it should be to make sure its broadcasted correctly.
