Radio D1- comparison
Comparison
Looking at our script and looking at the Radio X script they are different but similar too. When we wanted to do the introduction for our radio station we wanted t to be upbeat and welcoming because it is a comedy. I think that this is similar to Radio X which is the radio station that i researched. They have very welcoming and energetic people that make you want to listen to the show and that is what we have done with ours to intrigue people to listen. Radio X are a music based radio show but our radio station is mainly all dialogue which makes them have very different scripts. Radio X and Donny crimes are both very friendly and are layer back, they both have the same comedy vibe but they are both different kinds of radio. One is music based and one is comedy podcast based. The Donny crimes have interviews in them and so does Radio X they have some different interviews.
Codes
We have matched some codes of radio, speech is one of them. We have used speech by making sure the tone of voice we are using matches what we are talking about, we want it to be a funny chilled back vibe so that is what we are going for when we are on the show. The music and sound effects used in our radio is there to make sure that to matches the mood of the vide we are going for, we are a comedy show so we made sure we had some funny and relatable sound effects while having chilled music to match the vide of the show. Sound and silence are in one because instead of silence we want it make sure there isn't anything making that silence so people don't loose interest and with sound we have added in our own sound effects so we have done that to make sure that we don't have that silence but with it all tying into our radio show. These were also used in the researched radio show which was Radio X. They used the right tone and voice to speak in to match the vide and target the right audience, it is a very friendly chilled back kind of vibe in the radio station so they how they speak. The music that is in this radio station is very important because they are a music radio station and they have the right indie rock music to math the vibe of the show. There is sound and silence in this radio station it is very much like that when they have interviews and that means that they are following what they need in the station. The sound effects used will be their jingles and the silence will be in their interviews to create drama and style. If we don't follow these codes correctly then we will run is to some missies for example if the speech ad dialogue is off for the vibe we are wanting or the target audience we are tryin to reach then we might loose that audience. Aldo the same with the music if it doesn't match the vibe people might not like that and not listen to it. The sound effects and what jingles we use will not be an issue as they are small added sound effects but we need to make aur the make the radio station well known. The silence needs to not be an expended about of time or else we could loose audiences.
Jingles
Our jingle is used to make sure the audience is listening and they know the radio show they are listening too, it is also there to break up the sections or adverts in the show. They are there to make sure the audience feels welcomed and they know the radio show. They keep to the theme of the show because they are police crime related but they also have the name in the jingles and they are very welcoming and this is what we want in our show. We keep the dramatic funny and over the top theme but till make it friendly for people to listen too. The show i researched, Radio X, used jingles just how they are used in ours, they are used to break up different segments and to start the show off. They are also used to have breaks in between the show and they are there to make the audience aware on what and who they are listening too. The jingles are just there to make the show not all speech too because we need something to break up all the little segments in the radio station and if we have added music we can use it to make sure it introduces that. The jingles can be there to tell people who haven't been listening to the show at the start to know who they are listening too.
Dialogue
We will be addressing the audience in a friendly and open manner so they will know it is a friendly chilled and funny radio station but of we have anything important to state we will make sure it is done on a friendly but serious matter such as knowing the crimes in the show are not to be committed by the audience listening. This is a very comedic radio show and it is just there for the students and older generation to have a bit of a laugh. Like a you tube video but in an advert form. i think that it is important to address your audience in the right tone as the radio station and to match your target audience because if it doesn't the audience aren't going to relate with the speakers and we don't want the audience to not listen so we need to make sure that they like and are attracted to the type of speech we use. The show that i researched did tier speech very well, what i mean by this is that they addressed the audience in a very welcoming and friendly way which then gained their correct target audience and more which then means that more people are listening and enjoying their show. They did this by bring friendly and relaxed to entice their target audience which gained popularity.
