Audio Visuals D2- Justify
Justify
When creating the planning for the audio visual promo we were set on an idea and we started from there. I think that everything went to plan, looking though all of the planning that we did and how we made it all went to plan and it looked exactly how we wanted it too. We knew that we were limited to things like everyone one is when filming especially when its put of your control such as good weather, no wind or public people. However, what did go to plan was all of those things that we were limited too such as we worked around the weather or public.
When we did the editing and filming everything went to plan however we did have to film in two different sections on two different days, this is due to the fact we had road works where we were filming so we had to do some shots on the day before it shut then filmed the rest after. A lot of things went to plan but a lot of things we had to change to make sure it goes to plan and they were some examples. Everything we planned went to plan however, some things we did have to change and do differently, this is normal and it was going to happen because it doesn't always go to plan.
Already mentioning that when we were filming we did have to film in two sections because where we were filming there was construction work happening so they had to close, this did not go to plan with us so we had to do something different. This is where we decided to do it in two different days and the I had to make sure the outfit I was wearing was consistent to the last time she weas filmed. This did go to plan and there was nothing wrong with doing so, we didn't run into any issues filming it twice. This was one situation where it didn't go to plan but we did something different and it did end up going to plan. The idea of doing different shots and what kind of different shots all went to plan like it is on the story board which is good because we needed them top look right when filming. We didn't know for sure of it was all going to look right and we didn't know it would all go to plan until we did and and turns out we didn't need to change any shots because they all did flow and match with what we was doing so that was something that we didn't need to do anything different to.
Here are some screen shots of the advert and the storyboard to match up with that to show that the things we planned in the planning process was successful and made it to the final piece.

This is the start of the audio visual promo, this is where we wanted to set the scene. This is when I walked out of college all doom and gloom, this is where we added a black and white effect over the top of the original clip to make it black and white. We did this because as we know black and white are mono tone and class as very negative, they show that there is no colour its very dull and that we are setting the mood with these black and white effects. You cant hear it on this screenshot but we have a very natural city life audio on here, there is zero music to make sure people know that we are wanting the start to be a very moody atmosphere.
This is when I don't have the headphones on so this part is showing the negativity, anxiety and boring atmosphere without the headphones. Here we did a long shot here, this is so that the audience know that we are walking out of a school which is what we wanted to show so people know students can use this product. We did this is we could capture the negative atmosphere, there is no one around showing the isolation and it is quiet so that's where the idea of putting the headphones come on.

This mid shot is there to show the audience again what the most important thing is in the advert and this shot also helps people just see the way the headphones are simple to put on and comfortable to wear. The colour is still going to be mono tone because we haven't got the music playing yet which is where the colour comes in to show that now we are projecting positivity and that is because of the headphones. We are still outside in the loneliness to show the isolation and make sure that we can make this part look as 'sad' as we can because then we want to make sure that the positivity is all in the headphones.
This is the section that we struggled with however, we made it work by improvising and just making the angle of the headphone wire fit into my phone, the reasoning for this is to show that there headphones are wired so people know that they have wires and need to make sure that it fits their phone or they will have the issue we had when filming s I think that was a very important part to keep in the advert.
A teacher who reviewed our audio visual promo disagreed saying it wasn't important and that it looked unnecessary but we felt like it was important to show that audience that the wire in the headphones are a feature. This was still in black and white and with no music because I haven't pressed play at this point. This was a POV shot, we felt like using this shot because it showed the viewers how to plug in the wires and it showed that you can play music by having the music already on the screen. The song on the screen is also the song that plays on the advert once i press play.
This is when I press play and this is when the music begins. Still in the POV shot because we wanted the audience to see my press play just to add that in. This was just the beginning of the positive and colourful section of the audio visual promo. This was a very hard angle to film at because we needed to set the tripod up where Icould lean over it safely and be able to get my phone in the right place to where you can see the screen and me place the headphone wire in my phone.
This is where my happy and positive expression appears, the music is playing, the colour is popping and there is just so much good vibes to this shot that it continues throughout the rest pf the audio visual promo. Still outside of school but that does soon change in the next few shots. This is when my phone is covering my face but then the colour does reveal itself then my happiness as the phone moves down. Again we have that worms eye shot again to show what is the important subject in the shot and it shows the expression on my face, because smiles are contagious and it will make the audience see the positivity.
This is just one screen shot of the three clips that were filmed of me walking in different areas, these different areas were local places that had lots of life, nature and happiness. We set these sequence of shots up so that the actor always walks right to left and this continuity ensures that the viewer believes that the actor is progressing along a journey and we don't break the '4th wall'. These shots were either long shots or mid shots and this is just so we get that scenery in and make sure people get that busy, happy, positive feel. I know this is something that is very subtle but in this very screen shot I did touch the headphones and I know that it might not mean anything but this is just because I thought that if i did touch them then it can show again what the main subject is and what is important in the advert. This part of the advert is just to enjoy the music and how it makes you feel.
This is part of the ending after this part there is a little audio clip of one of my group members speaking what it says on the information section of the advert, this is just a fade in and out of the Sony logo to make sure people know the brand where to find it and how much it is. This is just the simple information, and it is just to make sure people have some information on it.
