Audio Visuals P5- Offline Edit

Edit Decision Log

Screenshots of the Process in Premiere

These are screenshots of the process of the offline edit which is all done in premiere. these are just the few simple steps to putting together the different clips we have filmed for our Audio Visual Promo. This was a simple process on just adding all the clips together. However, we need a lot of editing so that will be a longer process.

Here in the first step we have dragged all of the videos from the files folder and we have put them all in the media browser section, this is all in the incorrect order so we next need to make sure we have everything in that section and put them in order.

Here we have found the clips we need and put them in order by dragging the clip onto the highlighted area (highlighted in blue), this is where we are going to put all of the clips in the correct order and next to each other so there are no breaks in between the clips and it runs through the video without any editing.

This is all the clips in the correct order and there is no additional editing to it, we have made sure that there is no music and there are non of the clips that are cut. It will have all of the video on there so if there are mistakes that are there bur they can be cut out later on those mistakes will be I on the offline edit.

Here we are just moving all the clips along so that they all join together and make sure they run how we have planned it to run. We also have another tab open (highlighted in blue) so we can look at the timing of clips and what order could be where or what a different clip looks like.

Final Offline Edit

An offline edit is the first stage of editing process, where the goal is to create a draft
cut'. This stage in the editing process isn't the final edit it is just the clips of the video all put together in order even the parts that need cutting to the correct time, it will not have any affects, transitions or completed layouts. This stage of the editing process uses low-quality footage with which editors can work on determining the sequence of the shots, and the focus is on telling the story rather than polishing. To do this we are using Premiere Pro and we will be using this throughout the process of the editing.

This is the final offline edit, this is all of our clips in the right order but it is all unedited so there are no cuts in the edit and it is all the raw footage. There wasn't much for us to do when editing this, all we had to do is make sure all the clips were put together and were all in order. This task was completed by our editor Olivia, she had our help making sure we had all the clips we used when filming. When looking though it we can make sure that we like the clips we have used once they are all put together and this helps us plan out what effects we are going to add and what will make the final edit look professional. We are planning to and things like black and white effects and music for the middle of the advert, we also want to add the ending on but it is a separate edit so that will all be done for the final edit.
