Camera Types​

Phone ​

The phone is one of the simplest way of filming something. The phone have good qualities depending on which phone that you use. I would be more than happy to use a phone however it is hard because you cant change setting when filming it will all have to be edited after the filming which could take a lot of time and so it might be a good option but takes a long time to edit. The filming will be good but the editing may be a struggle due to each shot having to be edited after instead of during filming. The advantage of a phone is that it is just an easy press the button and starts filming. The clips are already on the phone then can simply be transferred to the computer. The battery life could be an issue for the phone because if you don't have a full powered battery and a full powered portable charger you may have an sure with filming for huge amounts of time. This could be a slight downfall of the phone. 



Conon DSLR ​

These cameras are great for taking photos but they aren't always the never one option for filming. However, i have used this camera before for filming and it does the job. The simple recording option on the camera and getting it to a computer is good. A benefits to the camera is that there are spare batteries that can be used when filming if I am filming for a long time they are reliable for the battery life and space batteries. They are easy to change settings on the options you have on the camera while filming and this is good so later on you don't have to edit if it didn't come out right because it already has the settings changed. This camera would be best because they have spare batteries  and will be reliable when filming. ​



Video Camera​

The video camera is a camera made for filming. This has been used for years to film anything, a more advanced version of this is a video camera they use in all sorts of filming such as tv, film , adverts and more. This would be good to use because it is made to film and that it is a small scaled hand held camera. I would use this because it is made for filming so the quality would capture what i need. This is like the camera but it isn't used for image its used for filming. The hand held camera is also good because you can capture the angles however you like and however you can with your hand. There is the issues of shaky shots if the camper is meant to be still and with it being hand held it might become an issue but if capturing shots with different angles this would be great. ​



Go Pro (action camera)​

This is great for action shots and mostly used for people that want to film there outdoor activates, they are good for travelling and shots that are taken in a POV shot. If i was to use this in a music video i think it would be good for POV shots and shots if we had anything that needed to be filmed fast to catch the action. The advantages of using this camera is that you can get angles that you might not get with a large camera. Due to the side i think it would be good for unique angles that you cant get with a big camera or a phone for example. It is good for travel too because it is such a smaller scale. However, you can't change all the settings, they will have to be edited once they are transferred to the computer and editing software.  ​



Drone ​

This is great for high angles shots. Shots such as getting the landscape is shot by a drone. This would be good for anything that i need that is going to be shot from way high up. The issue with these are you need licenses and permission to film certain parts of the land. They are also very expensive and will needed o be taken care of massively. Yes, they are great camera to film impossible shots however, there are a lot of things to take into consideration when using a drone. 



Equipment​


Lens (DSLR) ​

There are so many different lenses that you can use. There are lenses that you can buy for your camera such as lenses for your phone or big lenses for your DSLR camera. Using these with create so many different effects for you filming. A good example of this is a small fish eye lens that you can add onto your phone camera to create the fish eye effect and it looks amazing if you are filming something with a quirky style. Lenses on your camera can be a bit more complex and expensive. Most of these camera lenses are to enhance the  quality of the image or film, this is if you want a very good zoom in such as filming something far away that your original lens can’t reach so you use a different lessens to add on so you can see the far away subject close up. There are many ways to uses lenses. If I was using my phone I was get clip on lenses and see what different shots I could get with them. The camera lenses are not necessary and too expensive so we have a solution for this by using a phone and cheaper lenses. ​




Tripod ​

We will defiantly be using a tripod, this could be a camera tripod or a phone tripod but this will be used throughout when we want shots that are still. Hand held cameras are not the best when it comes to keeping the shot still and if we need a still shot the tripod will be the best to use. This is the best way to improve pour camera quality with less shaky shots and more still shots which looks better overall. Again, both phone and camera could be used on a tripod. This will be used constantly and if we every have one man down in the filming process we can still continue and use the tripod to hold the camera. This is just a benefit and will make sure are shots don't come out shaky and just poor quality. ​



Microphone ​

The microphone would be good as a prop, this will just make the video entertaining. I can use the microphone on the phone or camera as the microphone. I will not be singing or using recorded sound.  When I am filming there will be sound that i can hear but when I'm editing I will be putting the song as an over lay so on top of any sound and filming. This ensures there is no background noise and any sound issues. A microphone will not be helpful for my video. ​



Mounts​

A phone mount will be useful when it comes to still filming and things that are needed to be filmed princely in a certain angle with still footage. This is the same as a tripod and will be very useful if I'm using my phone. This will be useful when filming and i might use this when it comes to filming on my phones because two different cameras can give me different effects and gives me different benefits so making sure the cameras are straight. ​



Lighting ​

When it comes to lighting I think its really important that many different types of lighting is used. For example natural and artificial lighting should be used and then different light types such as 3 point lighting and more. For my music video it will depend on what lighting will be used. Natural lighting is hard to work with because if I'm filming on different days it might look odd in the video having either really good and then really poor lighting. If filming outside maybe the lighting will be natural and it will all be filmed in one day. Then looking at filming inside natural light and any lights can be used such as colourful lights or bight white lights and many more. Lighting will be used in my music video. 



How does this help?

The information that I have found is going to help me get an idea of what equipment I am going to use and what is going to be easier to work with. Looking at the different options that I have I have decided I'm going to us my phone and a DSLR camera to film and use equipment such as tripods for cameras and phone to ensure I get the right still angles and footage. When it comes to the cameras there are things to take into consideration such as battery life, settings and focus and durability to make the angles you need. I have worked out if I need settings to be changed that the camera is easier to use but if I am needing just fast footage or different angles then the phone is great when its hand held so I think I will be using both after researching each. ​

I also like the idea of using different lighting, depending on my idea for my video I don’t know whether I am going to need natural lighting or artificial lighting, I think lighting is something I am also going to need. When it comes to lighting anything can be used such as coloured lights, disco lights, fairy lights, white lights, warm toned lights and many more. These can create so many different atmospheres and feelings when it comes to filming.

Animation Unit 10- LO3

P5 ............................................................................................................... This is how my animation was created. I have decided to do stop motion animation so my animation required me to make all the backgrounds and take each image of every moving thing to make this animation come to life.  I had my own quiet room to make sure that I have the right resources to work with each background. The backgrounds were made out of colourful card and some of the elements that I wanted moving were not glued onto the background they were stook on by blue tack. This allows me to move each piece how I want too but it not be full stuck onto the background or else it just wouldn't work. The background was also stuck on the back wall with blue tack because I was going to be moving it through shooting and so that needed to stay unstuck but stuck to the wall.
